American Killed in Mexico by Drug Cartel
An American man, Nicholas Quets, was shot and killed in Mexico by suspected drug cartel members on October 18th. Local media suggests Quets’ vehicle may have crossed a cartel checkpoint before the attack.
Suspects Arrested
Authorities neutralized two suspects in the killing. One, a Honduran deserter from the presidential honor guard, had an outstanding warrant. He and a companion were killed in a shootout with security forces.
Cartel Involvement
Prosecutors identified one of the suspects as a member of the “Delta” gang, which works for the Chapitos faction of the Sinaloa drug cartel.
