A threatening display aimed at police officers was found in front of the LAPD Central Division station this week.
Debbie Thomas with the L.A. Police Protective League called the structure that appeared to be a full-size guillotine an “awful, disgusting heinous crime.”

With its blade made of a cut-up stop sign that read ‘cops,’ Thomas told KNX News’ Emily Valdez , “Clearly, anybody with a brain can see that that’s intended as a hate crime against police officers for them doing their job.”
She said people who harbor anti-police beliefs are emboldened to act on those feelings by public figures like city council candidate Ysabel Jurado , who has recently been under fire for saying “F– the police” during a meet-the-candidate forum at Cal State Los Angeles .
“In one week’s time, somebody’s calling ‘f the police,’ and then our officers are feeling it in front of their workstation,” said Thomas.
