Former “Home Improvement” child actor Zachery Ty Bryan was sentenced Friday, March 20, to 19 months in prison for violating the terms of his probation after a 2023 fourth-degree domestic violence assault conviction.
Bryan, 44, appeared remotely while incarcerated at a California jail serving a 16-month sentence for driving under the influence, about two weeks after Lane County Circuit Judge Bradley Cascagnette issued a bench warrant for Bryan’s arrest for his no-show at a scheduled court hearing in Lane County.
Bryan’s defense attorney, John Kolego, told the court March 2 Bryan had been jailed, with Friday’s sentencing based on a Dec. 3 show cause order alleging Bryan:
- Failed to abstain from using intoxicants
- Failed to comply with geographic restrictions imposed as part of his probation
- Had prohibited contact with the assault victim
