OCWA to inspect water lines in five different counties

The Onondaga County Water Authority (OCWA) said it will inspect water lines in its five-county service area from now until June.

OCWA wants to check the construction material of the underground water lines of 1,200 customers. That is only about 1% of OCWA’s customers, according to its website.

OCWA said residents will be notified ahead of time, and a precise non-destructive digging method will be used. The checks are part of a federal regulatory requirement to check on water lines periodically…
