13 Arrested, Firearms Recovered During ‘Senior Skip Day’ Operation at Jacksonville Beach

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. — Thirteen people were arrested and multiple firearms were recovered during a proactive law enforcement operation tied to a planned “Senior Skip Day” gathering, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

The operation took place Friday, March 27, 2026, after authorities identified online activity promoting an event similar to recent teen “takeovers.” The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Community Problem Response and Gang Units partnered with the Jacksonville Beach Police Department to monitor and respond to potential issues.

According to officials, the operation resulted in:

  • 13 arrests
  • 9 firearms recovered
  • More than 100 grams of marijuana seized
  • 6 traffic citations issued

Eight individuals were arrested on felony charges, including Daquan Williams, 18; Derrick Smith, 16; Cameron Gaiter, 19; Jeremiah Forshee, 18; Josiah Brown, 18; Darrian Simms, 17; James Stewart, 19; and Jasmond Perry, 17. Jamir Barnes, 20, and four juveniles were arrested on misdemeanor charges…
