MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man was sentenced Wednesday to 25 years after stabbing his coworker in the neck last year, according to DeSoto County District Attorney Matthew Barton.
Barton said that Jiver Alejandro Melo Dominguez, 20, of Mexico, pleaded guilty to Attempted Murder and was sentenced to 25 years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections, followed by 10 years of post-release supervision.

District Attorney Barton announced the conviction of Dominguez, who was living in Memphis at the time of the stabbing, for the attempted murder of his coworker in DeSoto County.
Barton said that on March 5, 2025, Dominguez carried out a violent and premeditated attack while working at a construction site in Hernando.
