Wichita Ronald McDonald House plans expansion to support more families

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Ronald McDonald House in Wichita is looking to expand as the demand for pediatric care grows.

The nonprofit is working with Wesley Medical Center to add six bedrooms to its facility in Wesley Medical Plaza, which opened in 2019.

Lynne’ Fletchall, CEO of RMHC Wichita, said the added space will allow families to stay close to the hospital while their children undergo treatment.

“It’s actually better for the families because you have the skywalk that goes right over Hillside, right into the hospital, and a lot of times the moms are going over to check on their NICU babies in the middle of the night,” Fletchall said. “It’s a safe, comfortable place for them to stay.”…
