Wichita North car show honors longtime instructor Don Stock

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Wichita North High School held its fifth annual Auto Invasion car show Saturday, bringing classic muscle cars to campus while spotlighting the school’s automotive program. This year’s event also served as a tribute to Don Stock, the program’s longtime instructor who passed away in March.

Colleagues and students said Stock would have been proud of the turnout. “He would love it. Love it,” said Lori Schmitt, an automotive technology teacher. “It’s so good that. I’m on an adrenaline rush. It’s just because it’s just everybody who’s giving back.”

Freshman Adeline Johnson said the event gave car enthusiasts a place to connect while honoring Stock. “I think it’s really beautiful that people get to come here and unite with their things that they love,” Johnson said. “And I think it’s really beautiful that it’s an honor for Don Stock.”…
