‘Why you shoot me?’: Victim allegedly says after fatally shot by woman

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A woman was arrested after being accused of fatally shooting a man who she said choked her at an apartment complex in South Memphis on Sunday.

Kimberly Annette Cooper, 36, is charged with second-degree murder.

Officers say they responded to a shooting victim call at the Methodist University Hospital a few minutes after midnight on Sunday. The man died from the injuries he sustained from a gunshot wound to the torso.
