Woman who got out of her car to help crashed vehicle fatally struck early Friday on I-70

ST. LOUIS — A woman who was trying to help a stranger who crashed on Interstate 70 Friday morning was struck and killed by another vehicle.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, Accident Reconstruction investigators were called at about 1:15 a.m. Friday to a pedestrian crash on eastbound I-70 at Union Boulevard.

In an update Friday morning, police said a Ford Explorer crashed on the wet highway and came to a stop in the roadway. Police said an unidentified woman was walking toward the car to help the driver of the Explorer when a Chevrolet Silverado struck the woman and the Ford Explorer…
