PORT BARRE, La. (NEWS 15) — A domestic disturbance call in Port Barre turned into a life-threatening situation when a man charged at officers with a knife, according to the Port Barre Police Department.
Richard Ellis, 35, of Port Barre, is charged with domestic abuse battery with child endangerment, resisting an officer, and two counts of aggravated assault on an officer.
Port Barre Police Chief Deon Boudreaux reported officers responded to a domestic disturbance at home on U.S. 190 just before midnight on Wednesday, April 8, and determined Ellis had attacked a woman in the home while their child was present…
