A man visiting Tewksbury Hospital was arrested for allegedly pushing a chair into a pregnant staff member on Sunday morning, police said.
The Massachusetts medical facility, for patients who can’t receive treatment in other health care centers, has been roiled by staff safety concerns in recent weeks. An employee was assaulted by a patient Tuesday, days after the CEO issued new guidance barring the security team from carrying “defensive tactical weapons.”
In Sunday’s incident, about 10 a.m., Eduardo Cruceta, a 27-year-old from Boston, began acting erratically and threatening the lives of staffers when a family member started experiencing an apparent medical episode, according to police.
