We saw a little bit of everything this past weekend, from partly cloudy and mild weather on Saturday, to a steady rain Saturday night in the northern half of the Valley, then finally to scattered showers and thunderstorms through the day Sunday. Monday will bring us partly cloudy skies with the slight chance of an afternoon shower, then warmer and sunnier weather returns our way after that!
A band of steady rain moved through the Valley early Sunday morning right after Midnight, and brought around 1/10″ of rain from around Fresno on northward. South of Fresno, the rain really died out and just a few showers fell. The rain distribution was similar on Sunday, where showers and thunderstorms rocked the northern half of the Valley, but it was much quieter south of Fresno – just an isolated shower here or there. High temperatures throughout the Valley were some of the coolest we’ve had in a while – only in the 60’s. The last time we saw high temperatures this cool was over a month ago – March 6th!
But warmer weather will be returning soon. We’ll still see a mix of sun and clouds on Monday, and highs in the 60’s. There’s even a very slight chance of a shower today, but it wouldn’t be much at all. After that, we’ll need to use our sunglasses again because the sun will be out – but there won’t be a dramatic warm-up. Highs should remain mild this week, only in the 70’s – which is actually near normal for us for this time of year. 80 degree temperatures should return this weekend…
