SHIAWASSEE COUNTY, Mich. (WNEM) – Following heavy rain with more on the way in the forecast, an organization in Shiawassee County needs help.
Jennifer’s Place in Owosso is a community center with a focus on providing resources and items for people battling addiction or who are unhoused. Now they’re taking their mission farther, helping clean up homeless camps taken out by recent flooding.
“They can’t just go anywhere and pitch a tent,” said Todd Fowler, the executive director and founder of Jennifer’s Place. “So, a lot of these places are in low laying areas where they got flooded. All their tents and everything were under water. And it also brought up more debris that was there from the past.”…
