Lansing population trends show young worker flight, aging residents

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — According to the Lansing Economic Area Partnership (LEAP), a new study shows that Lansing’s population growth trend and aging population may have a “significant negative impact” on small local businesses and labor force availability.

The Tri-County Population Study forecasted demographic trends across Clinton, Eaton, and Ingham counties and shared how these trends would affect workforce growth, housing, and community planning.
