OKLAHOMA CITY – Two people are dead after an SUV sped off the road and into Lake Overholser early Sunday morning, according to Oklahoma City police.
Authorities say the crash happened around 5 a.m. along a dark road that circles the lake in northwest Oklahoma City. Investigators are now working to determine what led up to the incident.
Police said the Oklahoma City Fire Department’s dive team recovered the vehicle near the south side dam. Inside, a man and woman were found dead. Officials believe speed may have played a role.
Witnesses described seeing the SUV leave the roadway, cross a grassy area, and enter the water. One witness, Trice LaGrange, said five people saw the crash unfold, watching the SUV go into the lake…
