Blue Angels form ‘Super Delta’ in Pensacola Beach flyover with Air Force Thunderbirds

PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — The Blue Angels took flight over Pensacola Beach on Tuesday morning alongside the Air Force’s Thunderbirds, forming what’s called a Super Delta.

Photographer Perry Doggrell has been shooting the Blue Angels for many years now. He recognizes the impact they have on the community.

“The Super Delta is very rare. It’s when the Thunderbirds and Blue Angels join up in a delta formation of all 12 aircrafts,” said Doggrell. “Pensacola is a big Navy town and a big Blue Angels town, and everyone appreciates military aviation. It’s such a rare occurrence when two of the best teams in the world get together and fly together.”
