New Crisis Negotiation Team in Nolensville put to the test shortly after launch

NOLENSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Just 24 hours after launching, the Nolensville Police Department’s Crisis Negotiation team responded to their first call.

On Friday, seven officers with the NPD reportedly attended a week-long course that was offered by the Metro Nashville Police Department. Then, just a day later, Nolensville authorities got a call about a man who became agitated while being helped by EMTs and ran into a nearby home and would not come out.

NPD Lt. Josh Combs, who leads the Crisis Negotiation Team, said the incident is just one of many that officers previously learned about.
