Weekend weather whiplash: Cold front brings rain, winds… and then possibility of frost

CINCINNATI (WKRC) – After a taste of summer warmth, the region is bracing for a sharp swing back to chilly, windy conditions over the weekend.

Temperatures surged back into the 80s Friday, well above normal for this time of year. But changes arrive quickly overnight as a strong cold front sweeps into the area Saturday.

Rain is expected to arrive from late morning into the afternoon Saturday, bringing rounds of showers and gusty winds. A rumble of thunder is also possible. Showers are expected to move out by late Saturday evening, but the bigger impact may be the temperature drop behind the front. Readings are expected to fall from the lower 70s into the 50s and even the 40s as the front passes late in the day…
