Virginia Tech looking to seal the deal with four-star Class of 2027 QB this weekend

When James Franklin was at Penn State, he was in the mix for a lot of the top recruits in the country. That has been the case since he was hired back in November in Blacksburg after being fired at Penn State.

When Franklin was with the Nittany Lions, one recruit in the Class of 2027 that he showed a lot of interest in was quarterback Peter Bourque from Massachusetts. He was a priority for Franklin and Penn State quarterbacks coach Danny O’Brien. Bourque ended up committing to Michigan and Sherrone Moore.

However, when Moore was let go in December, Bourque de-committed from the Wolverines and reopened his recruiting. Several top programs have shown interest in him, and despite changing schools, Franklin and O’Brien are clearly still in the mix.

According to Rivals, Bourque, who plays at Tabor Academy in Marion, Mass., is the seventh-ranked QB in the Class of 2027. He is going to be in Blacksburg this weekend for the Hokies spring game on Saturday, and you can bet that Franklin and O’Brien are making his a priority…
