CLEVELAND, Ohio — After a 2024 shooting on Cleveland’s East Side that left 22-year-old Anthony Williams dead and his friend seriously wounded, authorities charged two men.
But days before a December 2025 trial was scheduled to begin, the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office dropped the charges against Jamelle Swanson, 25, of Cleveland and Shashawn Atkinson, 24, of Euclid. Both were released from jail, where they had been held on a $1 million bond each.
