EAGLE, Idaho (CBS2) — A longtime springtime tradition returned to the Treasure Valley on Saturday morning, as thousands of sheep crossed Idaho State Highway 55 in Eagle, with rancher Frank Shirts moving his first band into the Boise Foothills.
About 2,600 ewes and lambs crossed the Highway near Beacon Light Road, moving from Brookside Lane to the Eagle Bike Park area on the east side of the highway. Law enforcement stoped traffic during the crossing.
A large crowd lined the road to watch the sheep make their way into the foothills. After crossing, the sheep will follow the spring green-up to the top of the foothills and then move toward Idaho City and the Boise National Forest…
