RAINIER, OR — A two-vehicle head-on collision on Highway 30 claimed the life of a Scappoose man and left two others with serious injuries Sunday evening.
On April 12, 2026, at approximately 7:06 P.M., the Oregon State Police responded to a fatal crash near milepost 48 in Columbia County. Preliminary investigation indicates that a gray Subaru Outback, operated by Ronald Craig Powers, 69, of Longview, WA, was traveling westbound near Rainier when the vehicle crossed into the eastbound lane.
