The Southern Miss women’s golf team is set to compete at the Sun Belt Championships this week at Lakewood Golf Club in Point Clear, Alabama, according to university athletics. The Golden Eagles enter the tournament as defending champions after reaching the NCAA Tournament last season.
The event will be held on Lakewood’s Dogwood Course, a par-72 layout stretching 6,106 yards. The course is known for its scenic, challenging design, featuring tree-lined fairways, bunkers, and fast greens. Lakewood has hosted numerous high-profile tournaments in the past.
The 12-team field will tee off at 8 a.m. Monday. Fernanda Gorostiaga will be the first Southern Miss player to go, starting on hole 10. Liv Romer, Savannah Van Gaalen, Taylor Trible and Louise Cuyvers will follow in nine-minute intervals, with Cuyvers scheduled to be the last Golden Eagle off at 8:36 a.m…
