Man hid wife’s death in Lebanon-area residence for a month, police say

A 68-year-old man allegedly hid the death of his wife for a month before officers found her body while conducting a wellness check at their South Londonderry residence, police say.

Michael B. Mikula now faces a series of charges filed by South Londonderry Township Police Department and the Lebanon County Detectives Bureau. They include neglect of care-dependent person, abuse of corpse, recklessly endangering another person, obstructing administration of the law or other governmental function and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence.

Police were dispatched to the 300 block of Timber Lane on April 14 for a well-being complaint, according to court records. When officers arrived, they found flies and could smell the odor associated with the decomposition of a body…
