MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – Horse lovers and riders from across the country packed the Alliant Energy Center and Veterans Memorial Coliseum this weekend for the 45th annual Midwest Horse Fair.
As the largest horse fair in the United States, the Midwest Horse Fair draws about 60,000 people to Madison each year. Organizers say the fair’s impact goes beyond the arena, with an estimated $11 million economic impact annually for the Madison area through spending at hotels, restaurants and local businesses.
For the first time, the fair featured the Thrill of the Drill Team Competition and Invitational on Sunday. Ten elite teams took part, performing synchronized routines for a $3,500 cash prize with scoring determined in front of a live audience…
