Shorty Turns 40

Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews has been performing since his trombone was taller than he was, and in the years since then, he’s built an incredible solo career and worked with everyone from U2 to Juvenile. He now celebrates his 40th birthday with a blowout featuring a host of heavy-hitters, including Jill Scott, Mavis Staples, Irma Thomas, Joan Jett, Leon Bridges and George Porter Jr. Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue performs at 8 p.m. Saturday, April 25, at the Saenger Theatre.
