Gunman Blasts Bronx Apartment Door, Bolts Down East 205th Street

Two weeks after bullets tore through the front door of a Bronx apartment, investigators are still looking for the person who pulled the trigger and ran off into the night. The NYPD is now asking neighbors and anyone passing through the area to come forward with tips.

According to police, the shooting happened on April 6 at about 11:23 p.m., when a 48-year-old woman was inside her home near East 205th Street and Lisbon Place. An unidentified individual fired a gun, hitting and damaging her front door, then ran westbound on East 205th Street. The case is being handled inside the 52nd Precinct and remains under investigation. A wanted notice with a reward offer was posted by the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers unit on April 20.

In a NYPD Crime Stoppers alert, the suspect is described only as an unidentified individual who discharged a firearm that caused property damage to the victim’s front door, then fled west along East 205th Street. The flyer urges anyone with information to call the hotline or submit an anonymous tip through the Crime Stoppers system.
