TopCats raided for fake IDs

A popular Short Vine bar was raided by Cincinnati police (CPD) in the early hours of April 11, 2026, following complaints of underage drinking. Officers cleared patrons out of Top Cats, a pub and live-music venue three blocks from the University of Cincinnati (UC) and arrested one following an altercation inside the bar.

CPD received a non-urgent call at 11:56 p.m. claiming TopCats security were allowing underage patrons to enter the bar using false identification, according to police records. Members of the Cincinnati Fire Department (CFD) were first to respond.

CPD officer Joshua David Miller requested additional officer assistance at 12:14 a.m., claiming responders “had their hands full” with a large crowd. CPD arrested 24-year-old patron Ferigne Thioune inside Top Cats after Thioune reportedly refused to exit the bar and began physically resisting officers, according to an arrest report obtained from CPD.
