Former attorney convicted of fraud asking for release from jail due to alleged misconduct by Delaware County judge

DELAWARE COUNTY, Ohio — A former Ohio attorney serving a 4.5-year jail sentence has filed a motion for judicial release in the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas, citing newly discovered text messages sent between Judge James Schuck and a prosecutor assigned to the case.

In August 2025, Judge Schuck sentenced former attorney Adam Stone to a maximum sentence for telecommunications fraud and attempted impersonation of a peace officer.
