City of La Vergne asks residents to voluntarily reduce water usage as Rutherford County enters severe drought

LA VERGNE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Like much of Middle Tennessee, Rutherford County is dealing with severe drought.

“March, April and May are our three wettest months, and our rainfall has been coming in below normal,” James LaRosa, Service Hydrologist at the National Weather Service Office in Nashville, told News 2.

The City of La Vergne has asked residents to voluntarily refrain from non-essential activities like washing sidewalks, refilling swimming pools or watering lawns. The city’s goal is to lower peak demand by 10% per day until conditions improve…
