Woman badly hurt after elderly driver mistakes gas for brake, pins her to wall in PB

A woman trying to help a man park an SUV in Pacific Beach on Tuesday was badly hurt when the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it pin her to a wall, authorities reported.

The 84-year-old driver accidentally hit the accelerator of the 2015 Cadillac SRX shortly before 10 a.m. while attempting to maneuver it into a parking space in the 4800 block of Mission Boulevard, sending it crashing into the 78-year-old victim and a structure, according to the San Diego Police Department.
