Authorities in Posey County are investigating a deadly crash that happened Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of State Road 62 and St. Phillips Road. The Posey County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called to the scene around 2:45 PM after reports of a collision involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck with injuries. Investigators say a silver Yamaha motorcycle was traveling eastbound on State Road 62, approaching the intersection, while a silver Chevrolet Silverado was stopped in the westbound lane, waiting to turn onto West Franklin Road. According to authorities, the pickup began its turn into the path of the motorcycle, and the two vehicles collided. The female rider of the motorcycle was critically injured and taken to a local hospital, where she later died. Her identity has not yet been released, pending notification of family members. The driver of the pickup truck was not hurt. He was taken to a hospital for a routine blood test as part of the investigation.
