ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Atlanta city officials reached their goal of constructing 500 rapid housing units to help the homeless population last week.
Dubbed the Rapid Housing Initiative by Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens, the milestone was achieved with the grand opening of The Beacon on Cooper Street in Mechanicsville on April 16. The complex features 100 studio units and on-site wraparound services, according to the city’s government.
