City will close Northwest Portland homeless shelter named in apartment building’s lawsuit

PORTLAND, Ore. — The city of Portland plans to shut down one of the overnight homeless shelters opened under Mayor Keith Wilson’s flagship policy last year, officials confirmed Tuesday.

The 40-bed location in Northwest Portland, operated by the Salvation Army, is the subject of a lawsuit filed by the owners of a neighboring apartment building in March.
