PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A new report shows that the Valley is among the top five most polluted cities in the nation.
The American Lung Association released its 2025 “State of the Air” report on Wednesday, which grades exposure to unhealthy levels of smog and soot over a three-year period. The report focuses on air quality data from 2021 to 2023.
According to the report, the Phoenix metro area ranked 4th worst in the nation for ozone pollution, based on the worst county’s average number of unhealthy days. The Valley had 54.8 unhealthy days in 2025, deemed an F grade. This was worse than last year’s ranking, where the Valley sat as the 5th worst with 47.7 unhealthy days…
