Neighbors on Sprague Road were jolted late April 16 when a heated argument between a young Berea couple allegedly turned violent outside their apartment building, ending with a 23-year-old woman in handcuffs the next day.
Police say the woman slashed the arms of her 24-year-old live-in boyfriend with a screwdriver during the confrontation. The man left the apartment at about 11:30 p.m. and later contacted officers, who returned to the unit on April 17 and arrested the woman, according to the report.

According to Cleveland.com, the victim told officers the two had been arguing throughout the day on April 16 before things spilled outside late that night. Neighbors witnessed part of the clash and yelled at the woman as she allegedly used a screwdriver to cut the man’s arms, then turned the tool on his vehicle and carved into it.
The report notes that the victim recorded video of the damage. Officers later went back to the apartment, placed the woman in handcuffs and arrested her on April 17.

Witnesses described a chaotic scene outside the complex as bystanders tried to intervene and police were eventually called to sort things out.
