Springfield schools credits students for reporting threatening comments, says threat was investigated and eliminated

LUCAS COUNTY, Ohio — Springfield Local Schools is crediting high school students with reporting threatening comments made online, a threat the district said it and law enforcement have investigated and neutralized.

According to a message to parents from district superintendent Matt Geha, multiple staff members received emails Wednesday at 11:54 p.m. The emails were sent by students, who were reporting threatening comments made online by another student.
