Taxpayers not paying for PA governor’s $1.1M private home security upgrades: treasurer

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHP) — PA Treasurer Stacy Garrity announced Thursday that over $1 million in security upgrades to Gov. Josh Shapiro’s private home will not be paid with taxpayer money.

Garrity said there is no legal authority that justifies taxpayers fronting the bill.

Her office sent an eight-page letter to Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) on Thursday outlining the reasons why the treasury could not approve the requisitions, pointing to the state’s procurement code…
