Self-driving vehicles are becoming more common, not just in Texas but everywhere. But we will now see more of the driverless robotaxi services on Texas roads. Tesla has decided to expand their driverless robotaxi services from Austin to two new Texas cities.
Tesla Expands Robotaxi Service in Texas
According to MySA, the Tesla robotaxis are now in Dallas and Houston. The announcement was made in a video posted on social media video on the Tesla Robotaxi page on X. Beyond Austin, Houston, and Dallas the Tesla robotaxi service is available in the Silicon Valley region of California, though those vehicles still include human drivers
Safety Concerns Around Autonomous Vehicles
It’s a very exciting time right now, although it’s notable that that these self-driving taxis have been on the road for almost a year now, as they made their debut on June 22, 2025. While there have been safety concerns related to Tesla’s Autopilot and full self-driving (FSD) software, the company has continued to make progress when it comes to expanding its operation.
