ALLENTOWN, Pa. (WHTM) — One of several counties considering developing a regional juvenile detention center voted to approve the agreement Wednesday afternoon.
Lehigh County’s board of commissioners voted 6-3 to advance the agreement between the county and Dauphin, Berks and Lackawanna counties.
According to the agreement, the center would be at the former Berks County Agriculture Center on County Welfare Road in Bern Township. Member counties would fund an equal portion of the facility’s operating costs, and the agreement runs for 20 years.
