A predawn fatal crash choked the early-morning commute on Jacksonville’s Westside Thursday after a wreck on the I-295 westbound off-ramp at Pritchard Road. Troopers and Jacksonville fire-rescue crews were called out around 4:30 a.m., and emergency vehicles blocked at least one lane of the off-ramp while investigators worked the scene and cleared debris.
According to First Coast News, the Florida Highway Patrol identified the crash site as the I-295 off-ramp at Pritchard Road and said troopers were leading the response. Reporter Jackson Brown noted that crews remained on the ramp into the morning, and state troopers had not yet released additional information about victims or possible contributing factors. Officials urged drivers to steer clear of the area while the investigation continues.
