Habitat Marks 40 Years With Volunteer Drive

Lancaster Lebanon Habitat for Humanity is celebrating its 40th anniversary with a special volunteer and fundraising drive during National Volunteer Week. The initiative, called “40 for 40,” encourages volunteers to dedicate 40 hours at a Habitat build site and ReStore, while supporters are urged to donate in $40 increments. Since its founding in 1986, the nonprofit has helped more than 300 families in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, by providing safe and affordable housing.

The organization is currently working on a five-home build on Linden Street in Columbia, where volunteers, Habitat homebuyers, and staff are collaborating on tasks such as building and installing porch roofs, pent roofs, and interior framing. All five homes have been matched with future homeowner partner families. Tiffany Franck, the director of development for Lancaster Lebanon Habitat for Humanity, expressed her excitement about the organization’s legacy and future, saying, “I’m so very proud to be a part of this history and this legacy and it really makes me excited to think about the future.”
