Mayor Gina Ortiz Jones and the American GI Forum want to make it easier for veterans to use federal housing vouchers to pay for rent.
The proposal would prevent landlords from denying veterans housing based solely on their use of a voucher.
“This ordinance is straightforward. It does not force landlords to lower the rent. It doesn’t remove background checks. It simply says you can’t deny a veteran because of how they pay their fair share,” said Pete Bernal with the American GI Forum…
