ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Saturday is a day to show your love for literature and encourage kids to read. Día del Libro will be held at the National Hispanic Cultural Center on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. There will be many activities, including a film screening, poetry, food, and dancing. There will also be word games, puzzles, and a bike raffle for kids, and, of course, new and used books from local bookstores will be available.
World Book Day is celebrated around April 23 to honor the deaths of some of the most famous authors. “Miguel Cervantes died on April 23, Shakespeare died on April 23, and Inca Garcilaso de La Vega,” said Carlos Madrid, Instituto Cervantes.
