Spokane Valley fire calls hit record as medical demand rises

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash.— A 2025 Spokane Valley Fire Department report handled its busiest year yet as growth in the Spokane Valley area increased overall demand.

The report said crews responded to 25,393 calls in 2025. That was about five percent higher than 2024. It also said Spokane Valley made up about 85% of the department’s total call volume.

Medical incidents made up most of that demand. 83% of all calls were EMS-related, including 11,441 Advanced Life Support calls and 9,607 Basic Life Support calls…
