Army tests ‘breakthrough’ bunker-busting bomb carried by small drone at Redstone Arsenal

U.S. Army drone operators have successfully tested a new bunker-busting bomb designed for delivery via expendable low-cost one-way attack drones.

The live-fire demonstration of the bomb took place at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama, on March 26 after only weeks of development, the Army said in a statement Wednesday.

“The successful detonation of the device deployed on a drone on a designated target demonstrates a new and potent capability for the modern warfighter and illustrates how engineers can quickly design, fabricate, and integrate hardware to meet urgent and compelling needs,” the Army said…
