Four Kalamazoo residents arrested after US-131 stop; 400+ grams of crystal meth seized

Four people were arrested for drug charges and resisting arrest after a traffic stop on Wednesday.

Deputies from the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) conducted a traffic stop near US-131 and 116th Street in Martin Township.

Multiple suspects resisted arrest during the stop, according to ACSO, while another tried to destroy evidence by tearing open packages containing suspected narcotics and dispersing it into the air and onto the roadway.

Three deputies were exposed to potentially hazardous substances and were transported to a local hospital for evaluation. Another deputy was injured after being bitten by a suspect.

One suspect was transported to a hospital for a possible overdose. All involved parties have been treated and released.
