Two arrested after 100-mph chase in Fayette County

FAYETTE COUNTY, Texas — Two people were arrested after a high-speed chase through Fayette County ended in a restaurant parking lot early Wednesday morning, according to the sheriff’s office.

A Fayette County deputy initiated a traffic stop around 2:30 a.m. on a speeding vehicle headed westbound on I-10 near Schulenburg. The driver refused to yield and accelerated past 100 mph.

A Flatonia Police Department sergeant used spike strips that punctured all four tires of the suspect vehicle. The car exited the interstate in Flatonia and continued on two flat tires and two bare rims before stopping in a restaurant parking lot along the frontage road…
