Two more victims identified as investigation continues after Northeast Side gas explosions

SAN ANTONIO – The two other victims injured in Tuesday night’s natural gas explosions on San Antonio’s Northeast Side have been identified, as investigators continue working to determine what caused the blasts.

A spokesperson for Brooke Army Medical Center confirmed that Mayte Reeves and Jose Ochoa are among those being treated, along with Timothy and Kimberly Nowell, at the U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research.

Ochoa is listed in good condition. Reeves and the Nowells remain in critical condition. The Nowells’ teenage daughter, Ali, was previously listed in stable condition.

Streets Closed, Investigation Ongoing

As of Friday morning, several streets in the neighborhood near Preston Hollow Drive and Thousand Oaks Drive remain blocked off while crews continue their work. Investigators with the National Transportation Safety Board and CPS Energy are still on scene…
